For more than a decade, Liberty House has been providing a safe, supportive, substance-free housing community for American veterans transitioning out of homelessness. Since 2004, our dedicated team  has helped over 200 homeless veterans rejoin their communities and regain fulfilling, independent lives. Every staff member, donor and volunteer help spread the magic of Liberty House throughout the community.

Every veteran that walks through our doors is treated with the utmost respect, regardless of their combat status or length of service. Each veteran is provided with a unique transition plan tailored to their needs. Time for Hill training with Geno!!!

The snow has melted on McIntyre…good riddance!!!  Time for some hill training, a great way to prepare for those hilly courses either on the roads or trails. 

Hill workouts start this Thursday, 5:30pm rain or shine.  (and every Thursday after that!!!) In fact, rain brings more attitude and mud!!!  The plan this week is to do 8 repeats with various core workouts at the top of each hill climb.  The descent will be used for recovery.  Cooldown at the end.  The entire workout will take approximately 1-hour.  It is important that you come ready to run…i.e. WARM UP FIRST (yes, before the 5:30pm start.  

Be brave…see you on the hill!!!

Move Your Paws for a Cause

Hello I am the President of Animal Welfare Alliance at UNH.

The race will be held on April 30th and is in support of the Pope Memorial SPCA of Merrimack-Concord. The race is $15 for local community and dogs are welcome.

Volunteers needed at Girls on the Run NH 5k, June 3rd!

 

Hello, 

Girls on the Run (GOTR) if looking for volunteers to help at the GOTR Run NH 5k on June 3, 2017!  GOTR is a non-profit after school program for girls in grades 3-8.  On Saturday, June 3rd at 10am, GOTR will host a 5k celebration at the NH Motor Speedway for approximately 2,500+ runners.

Running in new places safely

Hi! My name is Keelin Shea and I am currently enrolled in the Franklin Pierce University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. My class planning a service learning trip to Nicaragua in August to provide medical care and physical therapy to those who don’t have access or cannot afford healthcare. We have been planning numerous fundraisers to help fund the trip and provide rehabilitation equipment that we can donate to the community. One of the fundraisers is a Jiu Jitsu based self defense class at Manchester Karate Studio on Bridge street. It will take place on Saturday May 13th at 2pm and I wanted to invite runners to join. I have found that running in new places can be intimidating and knowing a few techniques to get out of a dangerous situation can put the mind at ease. The class will be $15.00 per person and the space is limited to 30 individuals. It would be much appreciated if you could pass this along to your runners or other interested parties! 10k Relay Race – Heart Warrior Foundation

My name is Matt DiFava and my wife, Caitlin and I run a non-profit organization called Heart Warrior Foundation. Our foundation benefits children and families affected by congenital heart defects, specifically through Boston Children’s Hospital. Last year, we were able to donate $12,000 to the hospital and hope to continue growing this year. We are hosting a 10K relay race on June 10, 2017 at Greeley Park in Nashua at 9am. Teams will consist of three members, each running a two mile loop through the surrounding neighborhoods. We would love to extend an invitation to anyone from Athletic Alliance to attend.
