About Dry Needling
At LB Dry Needling and Manual Therapy PLLC we offer concierge based dry needling and soft tissue mobilization techniques. Dry needling is described by the American Physical Therapy Association as “a skilled intervention that uses a thin filiform needle to penetrate the skin and stimulate underlying myofascial trigger points, muscular, and connective tissues for the management of neuromusculoskeletal pain and movement impairments.” The purpose of dry needling is to utilize a “dry” needle without medication to release muscle tension and decrease pain.
It is important to note that dry needling is not acupuncture. Acupuncture is based on traditional Chinese medicine and performed by acupuncturists. The techniques used at LB Dry Needling and Manual Therapy PLLC are based on modern medicine principles and heavily supported by medical research. Our professional experience has shown that dry needling can dramatically speed up the recovery time associated with injuries and common degenerative conditions.

How Does Dry Needling Work?
Dry needling aims to target trigger points, or hyperirritable taut bands of soft tissue that create localized and referred pain. The needle is inserted into the trigger point with ideally a local twitch response elicited. This twitch response allows the muscle to relax, increases blood flow and restarts the physiological healing process.
At LB Dry Needling and Manual Therapy PLLC, we always wear gloves and appropriate personal protective equipment compliant with OSHA standards. Our sterile needles are disposed of in a medical sharps collector. For more detailed information, please contact our providers at firstname.lastname@example.org.
